It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was in motion.

"The possibility to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
