Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
