Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.
My son told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
