Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
