Previous BBC specialists speaking before MPs

We open with queries from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who oversees the panel.

She initiates by offering context to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.

"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning in any particular direction, I simply desire it straight, fair and fair," he states.

In response to a query if he thinks the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the BBC creates is exceptional - encompassing documentary and entertainment programming."

Nevertheless, he states: "There exists significant effort that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

The second previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "continuous process and active debate" on evolving and intricate issues.

"Was the BBC prepared to have a proper conversation and debate and implement changes?" she reflects. "In my view, indeed, they were."
